Praying Mantis

Wet-folded in pink Mulberry paper coated in MC.

This was a case where the paper guided the choice of design to fold with it. The paper had this nice pink color that reminded me strongly of a katydid. That made me want to fold a mantis in it since I felt it would look good in that color, and it turned out great! I almost threw out the paper after messing up cutting the very odd proportions of the paper and then starting the fold in the wrongly-sized rectangle, but decided to push through the mistake and I’m quite happy I did!
