Singing Cardinal

Partial wet folded in red and black homemade double tissue.

I folded this and did most of the shaping while on vacation in a house in Galena with a very nice view out over rolling hills and prairie. I selected this design because I wanted to fold something Illinois-related while back in Illinois, so I chose the state bird - plus my wife said she thought bird designs were best for origami so I was able to kill two birds with one paper (heh… heh…). This took maybe 3-4 hours to fold and probably twice that to shape. I love that the chest is fully closed and locked, although this paper was so light I needed to use MC to assist in joining the sides. I think I could do better for the next one in the chest shaping but this design looks incredibly realistic and very representative of a cardinal. And I love that it looks like it’s singing.
